Is it Drying? Is it long lasting? Dior Rouge Dior Liquid in Reckless Matte #527
First of all, can we take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this Rouge Dior Liquid lipstick. When it comes to packaging, Dior has nothing short of amazing. (Err except for the Dior Addict Lip Tattoo. It is just....... NO. :x)
It comes in a sleek, black glossy tube with the silver signature cannage pattern and also a window through which you can easily identify different shades. However, the tube itself is a fingerprint magnet so do take note if this matters a lot to you.
Price tag: RM125 for 6ml (0.20 fl.oz)
Definitely on the pricier side because, you know, it is Dior.
This is how much product you get every time you pull the wand out and the amount is just nice for one full application (for my lip).
The applicator is not the usual doe-foot application you always see.
If you take a close look, the tip is slanted AND has a little well in it. The little well allows more product to deposit in it and this design may or may not be a good thing. You probably will not like it if you prefer sheerer application as the applicator will pick up more than what you need. On the other hand, if you are a full-on person, the amount picked up will be just enough and there is no need to re-dip the wand back into the tube for more product, unless you want the color to show up really intense or you have really full lips.
Another thing I noticed about this applicator is the flexibility. The part connecting the furry tip and the black wand is bendable, which bends slightly when the tip is pressed against the lip making application more smoothly.
I got the shade in Reckless Matte 527. It is a really pretty peachy pink color, which I am glad does not show up unflattering (read: weird) on yellow-undertone skin. Sorry I am really bad at describing color. :x

How it looks on me. I find this shade really suitable for Fall as it is not too vibrant nor is it dark enough to suit winter time. It will be office- or school-appropriate if you wear it sheer; or wear it full for a pop of color on the face.
This is truly a liquid lipstick, literally, because the texture resembles so much of a.... melted lipstick hahahaha. It feels really smooth and creamy like a room-temperature butter. On the lip, it is not so light-weight that I feel nothing but it is in no way uncomfortable nor is it drying at all. It does settle into the fine lines of my lip though.
I have not had really dry or chapped lip lately hence no comment on how this wears on such lip condition.
Although it is categorized under the Matte range, it does not dry completely matte. It appears to have more of a satin-y finish when swatched next to the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, which is completely matte. As such, this formula is not transfer-proof and will fade (from inside) as you eat or drink throughout the day. However, the transfer is minimal and parts that are not in contact with anything will stay intact. I also like that it does not become patchy when you reapply or when you press the lips together even before it dries down.
If you are worry about the gross 'white line' that forms at the inside of your lip after wearing lipstick for hours, nope it does not happen to me. Yay!
This shade do not stain hence it can be easily removed but it also means that your lip will look bare once the product wears off.
Some colors swatched on my hand in the boutique for your reference. Just take note that they appeared warmer than they actually are.
